We Treasure Our Volunteers
The entire operating budget of the library for 2006 is $55,225. That covers books, lawn care, salaries, computer equipment, supplies...everything! We could never run the library for that kind of money without the help of our dedicated crew of volunteers. In 2005 our volunteers provided over 1050 hours in shifts worked at the library and countless additional hours on special projects and programs. Our volunteers help in many ways including:
* Running the circulation desk
* Shelving books
* Making sure books are in order on the shelves
* Assisting patrons in finding materials
* Helping track down overdues
* Helping with the children's programs
* Preparing our materials for automation
* Helping with special projects
* Teaching classes
* Helping keep the library clean (thanks, Lee, for taking the trash to the dump!)
* Making repairs and improvements
* Serving on the Board of Trustees
