Tom and Olive Plant's mountaintop estate called Lucknow was built in 1913-1914.  When it opened to the public in 1959, it became known as Castle in the Clouds.  The estate is a wonderful example of Arts and Crafts Architecture.  Click here to find out more!

Come explore the agricultural history of New England as lived by Tamworth's most notable country doctor!  Visit the animals on the farm, and try some hands-on activities.  See exhibits on the Farmer's Year, and take a leisurely hike on the Binsack Trail or along the Swift River. Explore four centuries of American history through the eyes of the people who lived in one of New Hampshire's oldest waterfront neighborhoods. Two cards are available, each providing free daily admission for two adults and up to four children. Included are free admission to signature events An American Celebration, NH Fall Festival, Ghosts on the Banke and Candlelight Stroll, discounts on classes and workshops, and a 10% discount at the Gift Shop. Please call the library to reserve the pass for the day you want to go. The pass is only good for the day you reserve and does not have to be returned to the library.
